Sawyer Comes To Visit

The kids are out of town for a few days and there is no place Sawyer would rather stay than at the ranch.  One day here, and he's already destroyed the entire toy box, saw his first horse up close and rolled in cow poop.  Busy guy, that Sawyer
He went from this at 4 weeks..... this at a year

Ah, but the one thing that hasn't changed is this.  That boy does like to play with his toys.  And everyone else' toys.  Sybil lay on the couch and watched him with such a look as if to say 'dumb kids, look at what they do to stuff'

Sweep Pictures!

Hey guys, Anna here.
I could not believe my eyes when I went up on Thursday with Princess Stella, and saw Sweep. I hadn't seen any pictures of her since she was... 6 months, about? And even then, it wasn't of her standing. She looks like a jackal. Lanky, leggy, super slim.. she's smaller than Stella, but but has her female build, with a longer nose, and has Rowyn's legginess and ears. Oh, I swear she has the longest muzzle of the bunch of pups.

She was pretty shy around the dogs, Stella included... It took awhile, but Stella managed to get her out of her shell and play for awhile though. And once she starts barking she doesn't like to stop.

Look at her legs! I love her color, and she has the brightest eyes.

Tim is, what... 6'5? She BARELY comes to his knees.
Look at that build. Can any of you believe it?

At home in Dale's lap

Happy and relaxed... and safe from the other dogs.

Once again, Look. At. Her. Build!! Also, note: NO PANTALOONS!!

Long nose!

Quick comparison photo, and yes I know Stella is bleached out. But look at Stella compared to Sweep!

Sweep at a Year

On Wednesday, Tim with his son Jack and his Hoke X Cricket II daughter Sweep stopped by for an overnight on the way back home to Vegas from Tim's dad's place near Astoria (Oregon).  It was so great to see Sweep after a year!  If Tim and Sweep ever get involved in agility, the rest of the dogs might as well retire, because those two would make the killer agility team of all killer agility teams.  Sweep is a lean, muscled leapin' machine!  I know that Tanya and big bro Tazz are awesome, but I think that Sweep might just give Tazz a serious run for the money when it comes to pure speed and jumping ability.
The boys and Sweep had to leave this morning in order to make good time, as Jack starts school next week, but we sat around with Anna and Sweep's sis Princess Stella until Anna had to leave, then Don, Donna and their Hoke X Cricket I daughter and Sweep's almost twin, Jan, arrived and ate oysters (the guys, we girls are way smarter than to eat snail snot), Liza burgers (Jack and I) and enjoyed a fine, warm, late summer evening while Sweep got a little more comfortable with Jan and actually did play a bit.  We always enjoy having the pups and their owners visit, and Tim and I go waaaaaay back to Morgan's time, so it's always great to see him and his son
Big sis Jan, Sweep and Jan's owner Donna

Just a sweet shot of Jan

Jan, to whom everyone is someone she obviously needs to know (like a very small, quiet version of Ho Dog), cozies up to Jack and his Liza burger

Henry with his dad at Copper Mountain Colorado

Henry at three years old

I wanted to post this pretty picture of our three year old Henry (as of yesterday).  At his checkup, Dr. Fenner said "He is such a dog!"....meaning that he was quite a character.  He was cocking his head at the sound of a dog outside the examining room at the time the comment was made.

Cody at 3

Yep, it's been ages since I added anything to either blog, but the moment that at least Anna has been waiting for - pix of Cody in Wisconsin!  Taken in mid-July while I was back there, during a major heatwave (even the natives were complaining, that's how bad it was).  The black lab is his best pal Ozzie.
He is so much his daddy's boy - that face, his manners, everything.  He's silent too - rarely hear a bark out of him and he's convinced that EVERYONE must love him, very much a Jazzee thing.
